287.2.2011 Transfer Russel - Papamoa Beach

all traffic to the south of North Island passed Auckland

agriculture flat land betweeen Auckland and Waihi Beach

Paeora

US mid-west like - Paeroa
Weather: dry for most of the day, later afternoon some showers in the mountains leading to the sea.
The north of Auckland is somehow much like our Appenzeller-Land. Gentle mountains and lots of cows and sheep. The lower half of the North Island is only accessible by passing the bridge in Auckland. Their only motorway linking the suburbs of Auckland with Hamilton. All other state highways are basically 2-way roads with passing lanes from time to time, most roads go thrugh the towns. It all seems like the 1950s. Life seems to go at half of our pace. The town Paeroa just is the mirror image of a small mid-western town in the US.

Nous avons prévu 2.5 semaines en NZ, mais si on veut on peut passer beaucoup plus de temps pour en voir plus en details les endroits à visiter. Nous avons fait un choix très limité, il faut revenir........
