Weather: raining in Wellington and then gradually improving during the day.
Because of the rain we advanced our sailing with the Interislander Ferry accross the Cook Straits. In 3 hours the Arahura took us from the North to the South Island. The ferries need updating. This service is used for all transportations between the island (poeple, animal and goods). The cars and the campers have to make a U-turn in the hull, which can be tricky with a large vehicle. As most of the goods are transported by rail, even trains (with containers) are transported. The entry to the sound the Queens Charlotte Sound is very spectacular. The ferry has to negotiate a fairly narrow passage.
Hi y'all! Following your tracks with interest, through rain and shine! The "old vehicle" looks like a Ford derivate from NZ or Australia. Why don't you ship one of those to Switzerland, it would bring a change of scenery to Mollens. It's springtime! Crocus' blooming since mid February. Now 10+ degrees outside, working in the garden.
ReplyDeleteY'all take care! Love from Antares
